Party Like It's 1956! Come by and experience SOIRÉE a Mid-Century Modern scale model House of the Future showing iconic 20th Century Designs. In The Space Detroit Windows, see the rotating house featuring Harry Bertoia, Florence Knoll, Charles and Ray Eames, Isamu Noguchi, Eero Saarinen, George Nelson, Erwine and Estelle Laverne, Ruth Adler Schnee. Auto designs Dymaxion by Buckminster Fuller, The Tucker Torpedo by Preston Tucker and The Firebird by Harley Earl. Artist Dick Cruger hand crafted the scale models along with the laser cut "ghosts" of each designer. SOIRÉE is described as "beautifully wonderful" by the artist's friend, Ruth Adler Schnee, who is considered one of the founding figures of contemporary textile design. Adler Schnee attended Cass Tech in Detroit, Michigan with Harry Bertoia, studied under Walter Gropius at Harvard University and was the first woman to receive a graduate degree in architecture from Cranbook.
